The annual Tuti Gala is dedicated to preserving Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage by celebrating and promoting music and arts. Bringing together artists and musicians from around the world, the event serves as a powerful platform for unity, artistic expression, and cultural appreciation. Through captivating performances, recognition ceremonies, and media campaigns, Tuti Gala engages local and international artists, musicians, and cultural advocates to foster creativity, national unity, and the preservation of Afghanistan’s artistic legacy.
A world-renowned Grammy Award winner John Legend has voiced his support for our cause during the 3rd Annual Tuti Gala, emphasizing the significance of platforms like Tuti and its mission to provide vital
opportunities for artists facing challenges under the music ban in Afghanistan.
The Tuti Gala proudly featured performances by Afghan-American Broadway stars – the world-renowned Tabla player, Salar Nader, and Disney’s, Senzel Ahmady, who played Jasmine for hit musical Aladdin on Broadway. Salar, who made his Broadway debut as the onstage percussionist and music arranger for The Kite Runner has dedicated his career to preserving and promoting Afghanistan’s rich musical heritage.
In October 2024, Salar Nader and Senzel Ahmady, joined by the Nomad Ensemble and classical dancers, delivered a captivating performance at the 3rd Annual Tuti Gala in San Jose, California, seamlessly blending tradition with innovation. Salar also took the
stage at the 2023 Tuti Gala, where he performed a memorable instrumental duet with master Rubab player Homayoun Sakhi, as well as participated in a Live Ensemble—the
first of its kind at a major Afghan event.
Our partner, Tuti Media, proudly collaborated with Dr. Ahmad Sarmast, Founder and Director of the Afghanistan National Institute of Music, to bring back the Afghan Youth Orchestra to the Kennedy Center in 2024, more than a decade after their historic 2013 U.S. debut. Forced to flee Afghanistan in 2021, these resilient young musicians now use their performances as a powerful act of defiance against the Taliban’s suppression of Afghanistan’s rich musical heritage. Through traditional Afghan songs and classical works, they continue to champion musical rights, women’s rights, and gender equality on the global stage.
Our team partnered with TriVision and CAPU on a nationwide campaign to empower women in Afghanistan and reshape perceptions of their rights. Led by the U.S. Embassy and State Department, this three-year initiative involved branding the Afghan Women’s Rights campaign, producing multimedia content, and distributing 100,000+ promotional materials.
A social media campaign gained over 130,000+ followers in six months, and Afghan Women Rights expanded the initiative’s reach. Through strategic communications and media outreach, we helped raise awareness, challenge norms, and foster public support for gender equality.
As part of a collaborative marketing and PR campaign, we partnered with Turquoise Mountain to promote Artists Transforming Afghanistan at the Smithsonian’s Freer and Sackler Galleries. Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit institution with the mission to works to protect heritage and communities at risk around the world, and to provide jobs, education and a renewed sense of pride.
Led by team TriVision, our efforts included social media buzz, TV commercials, press releases, blogs, email blasts, and print collateral, driving nearly 1,800 visitors in a single day, with 70% first-time attendees. This collaboration highlighted Afghanistan’s rich artistic heritage and the artisans leading its revival.
The Afghan Children’s Songbook Project seeks to revive Afghanistan’s traditional children’s music, nearly lost after decades of war and oppression. Over 50,000 copies of the books and CDs have been distributed to schools and orphanages across the country, preserving its rich musical heritage for future generations.
Now available in digital format, the project continues to reach millions worldwide. Tuti is proud to have played a key role in its design, production, and distribution, supporting the vision of its founder, Dr. Louise Pascale, who began this initiative over 20 years ago.
Our team collaborated on the promotion of the National Gallery of Art’s acclaimed exhibition, Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures, in partnership with the National Geographic Society.
We developed the exhibition’s theme, bridging Afghanistan’s ancient artifacts with its cultural legacy. The project was a resounding success, drawing thousands of visitors and highlighting Afghanistan’s rich heritage on a global stage.
